Outline of Programme Idea

Outline of Programme Idea:

Topic and Title:  ‘Don’t Shop Swap’
My topic is to look into the solutions that young females can do to save money and not spend so much on clothes. Currently there are many teenage females that are going out and buying new clothes because they are cheap from shops such as Primark however, they are unaware of the working conditions of the people making the cloths. I am going to create a documentary that will be informative and will give teenage females a solution. I will be going into a new topic of swishing; this is when people swap clothes with each other online or during swishing parties. This means people will be able to have new cloths without having to buy load of cheap new ones. Ultimately helping those working in poor working conditions as well as themselves.

Type of documentary:
The type of documentary that I will be creating will be investigative, as I will be giving young females an alternative to spending money on new clothes. It will also be showing them the benefits this could small change could make to not only there life but others around the world.

Audience:
The target audience for my documentary is teenage females aged between 16-18; they would fall into the ED social-economic category; the D category is semi-skilled and unskilled manual workers. The E category is pensioners, lower grade workers and unemployed. My primary target audience fits into these categories because of their age, they are students who are still at school and on a low income.
The social grouping my target audience would be British however could also be of another nationality and of mixed ethnicity. They would come from a working/middle class family, as the topic of my documentary would be at more of an interest to them. The secondary target audience would be teenage boys who also might like the concept of the documentary they would fit into the same age group 16-19.

Media grouping: The types of media they would be into would be fashion they would buy magazines such as heat, OK or closer. They would have a keen interest in trends and keeping up to date with high street fashion trends. The types of programmes they would watch would generally be on ITV2 this is because the style of the shows are mainly reality biased such as models, misfits and mayhem. The style of music they are most likely to listen to would be R&B and pop. Some of the artiest including pixie Lott or Rihanna this is because they are iconic.

The mode of address of my documentary will be formal as the topic is serious.

Presenter:
In the documentary I will be presenting.

The locations that I will be filming at include:
At professionals interview
Southside shopping centre wandsworth
At swishing party
